Sound Devices 744T Portable 4-Track Digital Recorder with Time Code

This super-compact, four-input, four-track file-based digital audio recorder records and plays high-quality audio to and from its 80gb internal hard drive or a CompactFlash or external FireWire drive, making field recording reliable and fast.

The unit interconnects with Windows and Mac OS computers for convenient data transfer and backup, reading and writing uncompressed PCM audio at 16 or 24 bits at sampling rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz. It also supports lossless compression using FLAC and MP2/MP3 compress formats at 64 kb/s to 320 kb/s.

The unit's full-feature time code function makes it perfect for dual-system sound applications from over-the-shoulder to cartbased production.

The 744T's audio path includes microphone preamplifiers designed to deliver frequency response linearity and low distortion and noise in high-bandwidth, high-bit rate digital recording.

Though a very capable recorder by itself, it truly excels when used with an audio mixer such as Sound Devices’ 302 or 442 field mixer.
