Preston DM2 Digital Motor
This smaller, lighter motor is intended to perform the Focus, Iris or Zoom functions on all but the stiffest cinema lenses. (These jobs should still be relegated to its bigger brother DM1.)
Its worm reduction gears are coated with Diamond like Carbon (DLC) to provide unexcelled toughness and efficiency. The motor's housing is machined from a solid bar of magnesium alloy and coated with a special ceramic before painting. This combination provides exceptional resistance to salt spray and moisture.
The small size and high resolution of the DM2 motor make it ideally suited for Steadicam and HDTV applications. Step-up gears are available for use with Panavision cinema lenses as well as Canon and Fujinon video lenses. Mounting brackets are available for use with 15mm, 19mm, and .625" rod systems.
